What is the greatest need of this nation? If we were to sit in on our parliament we would hear some argue that it is health care. Some would say that it is a national child-care program. Some others might say that it is to eliminate poverty and homelessness. Still, others would tell you that it is the preservation of the environment in which we live. Here at Faith Baptist Church we know what the greatest need of this country is. We are not deceived into thinking that it is one of the temporal issues listed above. For those who do not know what the greatest need of our land is, let me share it with you:

The word of God

The secret is out! The truth is revealed. It is not a better health care system, not a national child-care program, nor environmental protection agencies, but the word of God. The Bible says in Proverbs 28:19 - ‘Where there is no vision, the people perish:’ God spoke to many Old Testament saints through dreams and visions. This was a direct revelation from God. God has entrusted local churches with His word, His completed revelation to man. People perish today, not because of the lack of health care, not because of environmental problems, but because they do not have God's word. They have not yet heard it, and thus have not the Son of God as their Saviour.

I challenge you to think and pray about this great need. When you do I want you to consider Bearing Precious Seed Canada. This ministry is a Bible publishing ministry based out of Bible Baptist Church in St. Thomas, ON. I have just heard that they had recently completed the production of their one millionth booklet of John and Romans. They estimate nine million homes in Canada. There is more to do.
